As is probably becoming evident, I am decently into Homestuck.
I'm not 100% up-to-date, but I intend to be caught up and current by the time I go to Otakon, where I will be wearing the wise guy slime suit version of John around for a good chunk of the con. And from the look of it, a number of the folks I follow on DA from last Otakon are also into Homestuck.
So basically... I'm making figurines of the kids and the trolls. So far, I've only made wise guy slime suit John (seemed like a good first pick since I'm cosplaying him) but I intend to make all variants of the sixteen primary characters.
That comes out to sixty-six different figures.
This is including god tiers and dream selves.
Basically, does anyone know if this has been done before? I started doing it for fun but this project is rapidly escalating into a huge undertaking, and I was thinking of trying to sell these guys once I have a diverse offering to choose from. From the look of it, the main Homestuck group on DA doesn't even have a section in the gallery for crafts.
I'd also consider making the guardians, the kids' sprites, the midnight crew, and the exiles. But that knocks the number of figurines up to a solid eighty. Also if I made the Felt, that's another TWELVE. And I would need to buy more green.
Would you want one? And how much would you pay? They're like 7-7 1/2 centimeters tall and I was thinking $8-10. PICTURES COMING SOON.

Otakon 2011 Impeding!
Otakon 2011 is in only two months now!
I also just attended ACEN 2011. My awesome new friends from the Hanna photoshoot/meet all did con reports, but I basically TL;DRed that to anyone who would be interested already, so that is not getting a journal entry. If you want to hear about con, ask me about con.
Buuut knowing Otakon is right around the corner makes me want to get organized and get things together for HiNaBN at Otakon. Since last year, I attended AUSA 2010 and Katsucon 2011. At both of these cons, I was able to find a couple people who knew HiNaBN, and in both cases some of the artists in Artist's Alley recognized my Hanna cosplay.
SELLING: Cross-Stitch Kits
I am attempting to sell kits for counted cross-stitch.
Each kit would contain:
-1 piece 14-count AIDA-brand fabric, to size
-10-15 skeins DMC brand embroidery floss in necessary colors
-1 pattern, gridded and printed in color
Kits WILL NOT contain NEEDLES or SCISSORS.
Right now, I have patterns for Hanna, Zombie, Conrad, and Worth from the webcomic Hanna is Not a Boy's Name. The finished product of these patterns measures roughly 8 inches by 8 inches and I would price a corresponding kit at $15 US plus ~$3-4 shipping.
I am willing to ship outside the US, but will have to look up the shipping rates and would increase shipping accordingl
Hanna Cross-Stitch Kits
I will link to this journal whenever I finish my next Hanna Cross-stitch project and post it as a deviation. For the time being, I expect just the people watching me will see this.
I have been toying with the idea of making and selling cross-stitch kits since I began my cross-stitch of Hanna. I have received positive feedback for the idea, but haven't really been able to track quite how many people would be interested in this. I've explained that selling the final product is unthinkable to me, as I spend roughly eighty hours on an eight-inch-square piece and if I only charged one dollar an hour, that's still eighty bucks someone is shelling
Plans and Progress
My DA journals are always about project-things, really. I have an LJ to whine about my life.
So, haven't been writing as much as I would like. I've been doing lots of crafts. A lot of things I'd like to share on DA, but they're things I would share pictures of. Either I still need to take pictures or I need to mock them up as the montages I've been doing instead of posting seven deviations of the same thing all in a row. I don't actually enjoy piecing together my photos all that much, so I keep doing more crafts instead of getting images of the finished crafts together to share with people.
Stuff I've made.
A bunch of bracelets for friends
